UoC Wins Inter University Debating Competition 2010 Organized by the College of Chemical Sciences, Institute of Chemistry Ceylon

Inter University Debating Competition 2010 concluded yesterday, with the debating team of University of Colombo winning the championship. The triumphant UoC team composed of talented orators from different batches and did pretty well to secure the championship defeating other teams from Universities of Peradeniya, Jayawardenapura, Kelaniya, Ruhuna, and  famous Chemistry Institute IChem.

The team of University of Colombo consisted of following students.

• Vajira Weerasekara (Captain)
• Randara Pulukkody
• Amal Vithanage
• Melani Fernando
• Shani Egodawatte

Moreover the great captaincy of Charya Wickremasinghe & Vajira Weerasekara is highlighted as an outstanding contribution.

As the winners the UoC team was awarded with cash of 25,000 LKR and it was most significant that this monetary gain has been allocated to the welfare of University, reflecting the genuine personalities of University students.

Congratulations to all the team members and especially to Amal (Mashier) & Melani for their outstanding contribution representing the 1st year's batch !! We are so proud of you !!
